Troubleshooting
Fix common issues with scanning, exporting, and AI renaming in PixelLift.
Vector elements are fetched as separate images
Problem: You scanned your layers and each vector element is showing up as its own individual image instead of one combined image.
Cause: PixelLift scans the structure of your Figma layers. If vector elements are not grouped properly, it treats each element as a separate exportable image.
Fix: Make sure your vector elements are grouped inside a frame in Figma before scanning. The correct structure looks like this:
Frame
Vector element 1
Vector element 2
Vector element 3
Once your layers are structured correctly, click Scan Assets again and PixelLift will fetch the frame as a single image.
Some layers are not showing up after scanning
Problem: You clicked Scan Assets but some images are missing from the list.
Cause: PixelLift only fetches layers that contain exportable image content. Text layers, empty frames, and unsupported elements are skipped.
Fix: Check that the layers you expect to see contain actual image or vector content. Make sure they are inside the selection you made before clicking Scan Assets.
AI renaming is not working
Problem: You clicked the AI rename button but nothing happened or the names did not change.
Fix: Open the AI rename modal and check the key status indicator:
- If the dot is green, the key is connected. Check your internet connection and try again.
- If the dot is not green, the active key has an issue. If you are using the default PixelLift key, close and reopen the plugin. If you have added your own key, check that it is entered correctly and has not expired.
If you added your own API key, make sure the key matches the model you selected. An OpenAI key will not work if a different provider's model is selected.
